Your carpet is a large investment. Maintaining it properly is vital! Below are some very important steps to keeping your carpet looking its best!

ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT CARPET MANUFACTURERS RECOMMEND TO STEAM CLEAN CARPET ONCE EVERY SIX MONTHS TO ONE YEAR DEPENDING ON AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC IN YOUR HOME! YOU CAN NEVER HAVE YOUR CARPET CLEANED TOO OFTEN. (AS LONG AS IT IS THE CORRECT PROCESS THAT WE OFFER)

1. Never use store-bought spot cleaners. These cleaners can damage your carpet by leaving too much residue in carpet and bleaching out the area. It will also attract dirt. Try using warm damp rag first, or use a drop of liquid dish detergent with warm rag, then rinse area thoroughly after use.

2. Vacuum carpet frequently. Carpet will always retain soil and dirt over a period of time even in areas that you do not walk! That dirt will wear out your carpet also. Always vacuum entire home at least 3 times weekly!

3. Have good doormats at every entry to home. Doormats can make a major difference in minimizing the dirt and soil that enters your home. Make sure you have good doormats that scrub feet well.

4. NEVER rent cleaning machines or store-bought machines to clean your carpet. These machines will leave too much residue in your carpet because of lack of vacuum power. This will eventually ruin your carpet! Also never use a company who brings a portable machine into you home to clean with. These units are not much more powerful that store rental machines. This is also not favored by the industry.

5. Dry cleaning is NOT very effective. Dry cleaning is a process that uses chemicals and “bonnet pads” that spin from side to side and transfer only what’s on top of the carpet. This is not a deep down thorough cleaning as steam-cleaning with truck-mounted equipment.  This is like “rubbing” your carpet with towels. The stains will reappear soon after.
